G ~~
To/Loeatlon: PHIL SCHMIDT
/\
`~
In early June of this year, I was informed by Randy Wilmore, Rrlmore and Company
Land Surveying, that our survey control point, pemtaaent station "E", was disturbed and
unusable as a survey station.
Permanent station "E" is located on a ridge between the Sly Gulch and the Lone Pine
Gulch drainage's and is a 8" diameter pipe with a 5/8" all-thread welded to a top plate that
enables the direct attachment of survey insuvmeats. It was set in concrete and has been one of
the most stable survey points in the MCC lease azea.
Permanent station "E" was set in the 1980's by E. Schaaf and Assoc. to facilitate the
monitoring of subsidence over MCC F- seam mining and has been used as a main control point
for horizontal location and as the bench mark (vertical controlling point) for the entire
subsidence project, including monitoring of the Mautz cabin.
'This station would have been difficult to move by a single person and most likely was
disturbed using a vehicle or by a number of people.
We plan on resetting the station again in concrete and reestablishing accurate XY&Z
coordinates on the point
xc: Dwight Kreiser
Kathy Welt
Norm Every
War Elk Mina Somerset.
