The facilities are in poor repair and are generally unsightly.
CC&V proposes, as a voluntary reclamation project, to remove these facilities and properly
dispose of or recycle the scrap materials present at the site. The Newport Minerals processing
facility is adjacent to our operation and as such may provide the public with the mistaken
impression that these remnant facilities are part of CC&V's operation. Removal of the facilities
will improve [he general character of the area and also assist DMG with final reclamation of the
Newport Minerals site.
CC&V is not proposing to conduct any work relative to the ponds or lined areas.
We plan to complete removal of the processing facility this fall if this meets with your approval,
and request your permission to proceed with this voluntary reclamation program.
Sigc
j;r ~~!~
/,f
Phil Barne~^~-
Manager, Environmental Resources
xc: Berhan Keffelew, DMG
