<br />' On 4 and 5 June I rode to Steamboat Springs with Dr. 6ruce Rippeteau <br />of Powers Elevation for further research, interviews and inspection <br />of the school site and Energy Fuels' strip mining operations. <br />After we arrived at Steamboat Springs, I spent part of the afternoon <br />' at the Routt County Court House researching the Tax Assessor's <br />and County Clerk's records. Later in the afternoon, I interviewed <br />Mrs. R. Wayne Light, a former student of Foidel School and former <br />teacher there; h1rs. Dorothy Wither, a local historian; h1r. James <br />Stanke (by phone), who had recently conducted a survey of Routt <br />County. <br />' On 5 June Dr. Rippeteau and I men the 6:25 am plane bringing Ms. <br />Merrill Wilson, Colorado Historical Society architect,and Mr. <br />George Glasier, Corporate Council for Energy Fuels from Denver. The <br />' four of us had a breakfast meeting with Mr. Gordon Wren, Public <br />Relations Director and h1r. Tim Borden, Corporate Council for Energy <br />Fuels before proceeding to the school site. <br />At the school site I examined the buildings and site, photographed <br />the buildings and wrote architec~ural descriptions. <br />1 <br />From 6 to 16 June, I continued with the research at the State <br />Archives, Denver. The remainder of the week was spent compiling <br />the research and preparing the draft of information for the National <br />Register Nomination form (see Exhibit ~5) and the State Inventory <br />forms (see Exhibit Tel) and drafting the accompanying <br />information was assembled, the forms and report were <br />were labeled and a photo log typed, and I consulted <br />Historic Preservation Office during this period. <br />-4- <br />report. h1ap <br />typed, photos <br />r~rith the State <br />
