The current quality of water issuing from the natural springs in and near the <br />• permit area is generally too poor to encourage beneficial use. No adverse <br />impact on this quality has been evidenced by the mining operations to date. <br />No impacts from future operations are anticipated. <br />Impacts of Alternative 2, Disapproval <br />If the Eagle Mines No. 5 and No. 6 mine mining plan, as modified, is <br />disapproved, the impacts associated with the expansion of the No. 6 mine into <br />Federal coal would not occur.
