Certification of construction was submitted to the Division on
November 5, 1982. The sediment storage criteria used in the design was 0.02
acre-feet per acre of disturbance.
Sedimentation ponds are designed to contain and treat runoff and sediment
generated by the 10-yr, 24-hr precipitation event. Enclosed are calculations
showing the sediment yield from the 10-yr, 24-hr event, utilizing the Modified
Universal Soil Loss Equation. These calculations demonstrate that the sediment
storage volumes prescribed for Ponds K and M are adequate.
Please contact me with any questions on this matter.
Sincerely,
COLO~(/R~/Ap/CD~O YAMPA COAL COMPANY
Geoffrey P.
