TASK 1 Mobilization and Demobilization <br />a) Mobilization <br />This task includes moving equipment and supplies to the project area. If <br />desired, the CONTRACTOR may establish a staging area for the storage of <br />all equipment and supplies. The area shall be of adequate size to <br />accommodate ali of the CONTRACTORS vehicles, equipment, and supplies and <br />shall be approved by the PROJECT MANAGER. The CONTRACTOR shall minimize <br />impact on the staging area with regard to noise, dust, and fumes. The <br />CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for maintaining security of the staging <br />area. <br />This task also includes all labor and costs associated with locating and <br />protecting utilities, both above ground and underground, at the work site. <br />See also Section 1.0 of the "Standard Work Specifications" included in <br />CMLRD General Bid Specifications, 1989. <br />b) Demobilization <br />This item shall include all labor, equipment, and costs associated with <br />demobilization and clean-up of the work site to its original or better <br />condition. All equipment and supplies, materials, and debris related to <br />ti~is project will be removed from the site upon completion. The <br />CONTRACTOR shall also reclaim any staging area or other ground disturbed <br />during the course of the project located outside of the project area as <br />defined by this Bid Document. All haul roads shall be fully regraded and <br />reclaimed upon completion of the project. Additional final grading shall <br />be accomplished to reduce oversteep slopes, if needed. <br />See also Section 1.0 of the "Standard Work Specifications" included in <br />CMLRD Gen eral Bid Spe ci fi ca ti on s , 1989. <br />The CONTRACTOR shall exercise caution during mobilization, performance of <br />all work tasks, and demobilization in order to avoid damage to public and <br />private property including, but not limited to, pavements, soils, <br />vegetation, water supplies, fences, walls, structures, existing sediment <br />ponds, landscaping etc. The CONTRACTOR shall repair and restore public <br />or private property damaged during the work at his expense. <br />The CONTRACTOR shall be fully responsible for any and all damage to <br />property caused by his equipment or personnel. The CONTRACTOR shall <br />ensure that the job site is restored to original or better condition and <br />th at the PROJECT MANAGER accept that the work is complete. <br />-5- <br />
