Routten
Division of Minerals & Geology
1313 Sherman St.
Denver CO 80203
Dear Mr. Routten:
~~CEIVED
OCT 03'I~Q,
., ':~~~~ u~ nn~ieiaw a UBO109Y
a
Again, I am sorry for the delay in responding. We were in Texas last week.
Then Ray Curby had a heart attack and a coronary artery bypass last week. I
have had to assume many of his ranch duties to care for the cows.
I will try to answer your questions about my questions. First, you placed a
new condition on the expenditure of the reserved $800 from the Harrison
ldestern payment by saying that it would be associated with final work
supervised by the Inactive Mines program associated with the GEC East Pit
work. It seems important to know if there is any remaining money to know if
there will ever be any final work in the East Pit.
Secondly, it seems obvious that the proposed work in the West Pit will
contribute a large sediment load from a non-revegetated area into the
drainage system. Since we are aware that this plan is prohibited by the
Division's own rules, we have questioned whether we should be party to an
agreement that may be a violation.
Sincerely,
~I r
v
W.D.
