Jim Nerron
,r,
~,
-3-
~~
April 27, 1983
The Division proposes the following diversity standard: 3 cool
season grasses, 2 warm season grasses, and 2 forbs be reestablished.
Stipulation No. 14: The response to this stipulation is satisfactory.
The Division may consider the requirements of this stipulation
satisfied. The perrnittee has proposed an acceptable annual
monitoring program.
McCLANE CANYOIV
Stipulation No. 9: In order for this stipulation to be satisfied, the
Division requires a written concurrence from Salt Creek Mining
Company.
Stipulation No. 10: The information required by this stipulation was
present within the permit application.
The Division reviewed information present in Tables 4.5-25 and
4.5-28 and determined that woody plant density sampling was
, adequate for Greasewood shrubland and Shadscale shrubland
communities. Juniper woodland woody plant density sampling did not
meet sample adequacy requirements. It was determined that affected
area woody plant density data from Juniper woodland communities at
the Munger and McClave sites was not siynificantly different at the
95% level (alpha=2). It is the suggestion of the Division that
this data be combined and evaluated to determine if sample adequacy
can be obtained. Results should be submitted to the Division.
Stipulation No. 11: The perrnittee has submitted an adequate response to
this stipulation. The Division would propose the modification of
the woody plant density success standards to the following: 5UU
stems/acre for Greasewood shrubland and Shadscale shrubland
communities, and 2000 stems/acre for the Pinyon-Juniper woodland
community.
With the acceptance of this proposal, the Uivision could consider
the stipulation satisfied.
Stipulation No. 12: The perrnittee has submitted an adequate response to
this stipulation. The Division would propose the modification of
the proposed species diversity success criteria to the same
standards proposed for the Munger Canyon site: 3 cool season
grasses, 2 warm season grasses, and 2 forbs be established, at a
minimum; no one species of which is to comprise more than 40% of
the relative vegetative cover.
With the acceptance of these success standards, the Division could
consider this stipulation resolved.
w ~~ . c fv~ ~ 1 .~.-•
