Domin gue 7~~
RE; Flatiron ''s Request for Small Area Exemption for Bourg Coal Mine
Loadout
As the estimated disturbed area is only to be approximately 25,000 sq.
ft. (about half an acre) and the fact that the entire area receives less
than 9.9 inches of annual precipitation, it is my opinion that a small
area exemption is warranted.
Rowever, the information provided is insufficient to evaluate the effec-
tiveness of the alternative sediment control. The area should be field
surveyed and a berm provided on all downslope sides to prevent off-site
contamination. A drawing of the area should be provided with one foot
contour intervals on a scale of 1:6000 or larger and the proposed remedy
should be detailed on the map.
/mt
