Both these areas are existing since the early 1900's.
We have mined at Area B and this topsoil has been stockpiled to
the east. On our recent visit to the quarry, we estimated this
volume of topsoil at Area B to be approximately 4000 cubic yards,
which is adequate for reclaiming Area B and the haul road to this
area. This topsoil stockpile at this area has been seeded, as
noted in your inspection report, with a mixture of Western Wheat
Grass and Brome.
You expressed concern as to sediment control below the stockpile
area. We feel that with the clean stockpiled rock across this
area we are trapping any sediment on the upper side of these
stockpiles, allowing only clean water to percolate through these
stockpiles. In :essence, we presently have a large rock dam in
this area. At such time as the stockpiles are removed, there will
then be a need for a rock dam to be constructed below the site.
Due to limited activity at this quarry, we request that this permit
be considered for temporary cessation as of July 28, 1984. If you
have any further questions, please contact me.
S
ent
RJO:pak
IED LIMESTONE

G~DILCIVM FEED SUPPLEMENT
r
MINERAL FILLER
:o-........_.. ~~. ~,,. ,3,:~'r;'Y.,, a..ob ~. _. -.6~,._-....:~a?6..,sa a~trdr::°csra4~s•._:d :.a=-iw '.. ~y.~. -."f.;'.:.~'~'d'.~ .%s.;4: ..,
