The reported
reason for this visit is to protest the blasting activities of the Pikes Peak Mining Company
located in the Victor area.
Mayor Hopkins is not authorized to take any official position on this issue since there has
been no public discussion and no public input on it as required by statute. As a Victor
citizen, a Victor property owner and a Victor business owner I deeply resent his attempts
to use his official position as a vehicle to further his own personal agenda.
Pikes Peak Mining Company and their representatives have demonstrated numerous times
to anyone wlto would listen that blasting activities are being conducted well below the set
allowable limits. 1 rarely hear or feel the blasts...even when [know they are scheduled.
I am not an employee of Pikes Peak Mining Company nor have 1 ever been. f consider the
Company to be a responsible and well managed...and an ideal corporate citizen.
Sincerely,
Robert E. Burns
