SHELTON, Director
November 9, 1933
Douglas County Commissioners
Douglas County Administration Bldg.
301 Wilcox Street
Castle Rock, Colorado 80104
Re: Your Letter of October 3, 1983, Regarding Our File No. 80-245;
Robinson Brick Company; "Hogback Mine"
Dear Commissioners:
We have received your letter concerning the Hogback Mine amendment and
understand your concern that the mining site be properly reclaimed. Our
Division staff and the Mined Land Reclamation Board share that concern.
The following actions were taken by the Board on September 22, 1983 to
insure the reclamation of this site:
1. An amendment to the existing permit was approved that accounts for
all existing disturbances. It also brings the timetable for mining and
reclamation up-to-date, and in general, gives an improved reclamation
plan far the entire final mined site.
2. The amount of the financial warranty on the operation was increased
from $6,000.00 to $47,200.00. This new warranty amount is based on a
detailed analysis of reclamation costs and will be adequate to cover
reclamation in the event of default by the operator.
The increased financial warranty was received and approved by our
Division on October 4, 1983. That receipt completed our amendment
process.
Our file on this matter is available for your review during normal
business hours. Please contact us if you need further information or
assistance.
Sincerely,
,~ ~-
~,; ~
David C. Shelton
Director
DCS/mob
Doc.
