<br />_n_ <br />• Coal is runed at the exposed face by a 'continuous ,v:ner.The .mined coal is <br />then shuttled to a conveyor within the mine which transports the coal to the <br />bench at the portal entries. On the bench, coal is crushed, stockpiled, and <br />loaded onto highway trucks and transported to the Loma Ioadout. <br />The Ioadout is located near Loma, Colorado along a railroad siding. This <br />facility wiZ1 also handle coal .`rpm the McClane Canyon ,'-tine. The total capacity <br />of the stockpiles will be 4,000 tons (maximum allowed by the Ftesa County <br />Special Use Permit is 2,000 tons). Coal will 6e loaded into railroad cars by <br />front-end loaders. <br />.YO topsoil was stripped prior to the development which has already occurred <br />at the mine. Construction of the sediment pond wit/ require stripping of <br />topsoil. Topsoil will be salvaged from future disturbances to assist in <br />reclamation of the existing disturbance after mining. <br />rdhen mining ceases for this operation, the portals will be sealed and backfilled. <br />The bench area will be graded and drainace will be reestablished. The distur- <br />bance will be topsoiled, seeded and mulched to establish a vegetation cover <br />of a variety consistent with surrounding naturally occurring vegetation. <br />No topsoil was salvaged at the Loma loadout site. This area is Zeased to <br />Sa1C Creek Mining Company by the OsRGN Railroad. This facility previously served <br />as a sugar beet Ioadout area and is~zoned industrial. The Land use upon the <br />cessation of its use as a coal Ioadout will be industrial. The site will be <br />• cleared of all coal materials and of all structures which the present owner <br />:rishes removed. The coal materials removed from the Ioadout site will be back- <br />'i11ed in the mine portal area. <br />An irrigation return flow ditch, which presently crosses the Ioadout _°acility, <br />will be channeled through a culvert to prevent contamination. .~ berm will be <br />constructed around the Ioadout site to contain all surface runoff on site. <br />• <br />
