One of the remaining reclamation liabilities
include sealing and plugging twenty methane wells and drill holes
constructed by Western Slope Carbon along Coal Gulch road.
Enclosed, please find a copy of map locating the wells constructed
and used by Western Slope Carbon. I have highlighted the wells
that the Division believes to be permitted by the Hawk's Nest Mine.
If Somerset utilizes any of these wells or intends to in the near
future, please notify me or Steve Shuey of this office. The
Division will also determine if any access road branching off Coal
Gulch Road constructed by Western Slope Carbon requires
reclamation. The Division intends to inspect these wells in June
to determine their location and condition.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call.
Sincerely,
~>/ J

Erica S.
