Thank you for your
correspondence.
Four Corners Materials has recently submitted an application to amend the permit at the Bar D Pit. The
correspondence submitted for the Bar D Pit was received during the public comment period for the
amendment application. DMG interprets your correspondence as a timely objection to the application,
which qualifies you for party status to the review process. DMG will forward to you, under separate
mailing, documents and information describing party status, the review process for an application with
objection(s), and schedule for the formal public hearing and pre-hearing conference for the application.
DMG interprets your correspondence for the Dalton Land & Cattle operation to be a complaint against
the operation. DMG has requested response from the permit holder, Sandco, Inc., to the issues raised in
your complaint. DMG investigation into the issues raised in your complaint will include a review of permit
documents and conditions, as well as an on-site inspection to determine whether the operation is
compliant with permit conditions and the Act and Rules.
DMG interprets your correspondence for the Hermosa Meadows Gravel operation to be a complaint
against the operation. DMG records indicate that the reclamation permit for the Hermosa Meadows
Gravel operation was terminated on October 29, 2004, for successful completion of reclamation. As of
October 29, 2004, mining and reclamation activities have ceased and the permit holder, Hermosa
Meadows Gravel LLC, has been released from reclamation liability.
Please contact me at the DMG Durango Office, 701 Camino del Rio, Room 125, Durango, CO 81301,
phone (970) 247-5469, if you have any questions.
Sillncerely, .
