Data from the August 16, 1993 Mincic survey provided to our offices on August 31, 1998 indicated
that when compared to [he 1988 survey, the two monuments situated over the main were lower in
elevation. The monument near the center of the main was measured at 1.56 inches lower in
elevation in August of ] 993 than in May of 1988. The monument nearer the edge of the main was
measured at 4.08 inches lower in elevation in August of 1993 than in Ivlay of 1988. These
differences in elevation were, however, smaller than the elevation differences noted by the July
1993 survey.
Because the OSM determined that the differences in elevation between the July 1993 Mincic survey
data and the May 1988 survey data fell within acceptable survey error, it would appeaz that the
August 1993 survey data would also fall within acceptable survey error. As such, it would appear
that the August 1993 Mincic survey data do not form a basis for the Division to change its
conclusions with regazd to the Tatum structure.
Attachments (Figure 1)
cc: James A.
