The revision would re-
duce the number of water sampling points during Salt Creek's
approved cessation of operations to those points shown on
the schematic enclosed.
Since no coal production or construction activity is occur-
ing, Salt Creek feels that additional water sampling is not
warranted.
The sample points to be monitored quarterly would be:
SURFACE WATER
SW-2 - McClane Creek below the mine but prior to
East Salt Creek (specifically at the 2nd
gate).
SW-3 - Munger Creek below the confluence of the
North Split and South Split, but prior to
exiting Munger Canyon (specifically at the
culvert where the road crosses Munger Creek).
GROUND WATER
GW-6 - In the alluvium of Munger Creek at the pro-
posed waste disposal area.
These specific water sample points would point out any ex-
cursions from water quality standards and provide additional
data for life of mine water quality monitoring.
In addition to a reduction in the number of poi is to be
sampled, Salt Creek requests that only the foll~wing para-
meters be monitored:
(1)
