Bob Hill, agent for DGMC, made preliminary
inquiry to your department concerning operations at the Incas Mine and was informed
that any mineral extraction activity would require application and processing of a Class
II Land Use Permit. Such response was understandable without the benefit of
additional information concerning the established mining activities, which information
we will attempt hereby to share and make available to you.
As you may know, the California Mining District was established approximately
100 years ago based upon the location of valuable minerals and the consequent
mineral exploration and extraction activities in this 12 mile x 12 mile district. The
Incas Mine has been one of the heaviest producers of valuable minerals in the District
since it's discovery in 1909. Tens of thousands of ounces of gold have been
produced from the mine over time. Within the California Mining District, more than
95 mines and properties are located and more than 400 mining claims in the District
have resulted in the issuance of patents actually transferring legal title from the
government to the holders of the mining claims.
~~_ ~
U=-~=
TELEPHONE
(303) 259-2680
FACSIMILE:
(303) 259-635d
th~
~~~ 3..n ~~~ ~®
The Incas Mine is the subject of an active and current "LIMITED IMPACT
PERMIT (1 101" issued by the Colorado Department of Natural Resources, Division of
