Computer requirements to use the DBMS document imaging CD (or DVD): 1. A program called QuickView will be copied to the CD and must be installed on your computer in order to use a DBMS imaging CD the first time. Future use of this or other imaging CD's does not require a cew installation of the software. 2. The CD or DVD that you purchase nn be in the De drive. A DVD drive will read a CD or DVD. 3. The CD will contaim files with the .tif extension. There needs to be an image viewing application for .tif files on your computer that will handle single and multi-page documents. On a Windows XP computer, the default viewing programs are called "Windows Picture and Fax Viewer" or "Paint' and they do not work with QuickView. The Imaging Viewer that comes with pre-Windows XP computers does work. DBMS has determined that a program called "hianView", which can be downloaded from IrfanView.com, does work with QuickView. After downloading "IrfanView", it needs to be configured as your default .tif viewer. DBMS does not support or endorse this software and the licensing and registration are the user's responsibility. There are many other programs that work as well, such as "Imaging Preview„ and "Imaging for Windows". Instructlona• 1. L1.9ert the CD inro your computer. 2. Allow time for the CD to install. 3. Eject the CD from the computer. 4. Reinsert the CD into the computer. 5. You are ready ro view the Pemlit Files. NOTE: A program called QuickView Automo, which runs the QuickView setup program, has also been copied to this CD. If the Autotun program does Nt7f work, you will need to manlisuy install the 1ZuickView program Instructitlna for manually installing QuickView are available upon request with the CD or can be viewed at www.minina.state.co.us. The Permit Pile document Images coo be viewed in the receptlon area of the DBMS ollice or they coo be purchased on a CD or DVD. The CD/DVD purchase coat covers the tlme and labor of maklag the CD.
