Boa 1821
COLORADO SP RiN GS, COLORADO 80901
Jan. 9, 1994
'J r.,-.
Mr. Larry Routten
Division of Minerals & Geology ,J~:~ 1
I;;SC.
1313 Sherman St.
Denver CO 80203 ~~•.
Dear Mr. Routten:
We just received the bid request document for the East Pit work. We had
been aware that the Dvision was planning to remove the access road
around Chen's Hill, but we were surprised to learn that the road into
the West Pit was going to be remove too. If that road is removed, there
will be not connection that is useful to gain access to the short road
at the drill hale site near the north centerline 1/16 corner that the
Division approved for retention. While that road is shorter, it would
become the same situation as the present Newlin Creek road with no
access at the proximal end.
The East Pit bid document also contains a drainage ditch (drainage ditch
2) which is nearly impossible to correlate with the ditches you propose,
but would seem to duplicate some of the functions. Drainage ditch 2
would certainly prohibit the original ditch agreement.
The proposed letter to the Board lacks sufficient detail. It mentions a
miscalculation without any information about the size of the
miscalculation. It should be important that there is appro};imately a
600% error and that the Division refused to admit its error for about
one year until it had to accurately design the new ditches. We are not
interested in a letter that brushes over the Division's errors.
Could we have a copy of the Division's letter to the Vento Family Trusts
concerning the contour ditch cut onto the Vento property, please?
/Sincerely,
L~
W.D. Corley,
President
