This well is a replacement for SMW
2M-TDR well, which is located near the SH - 6H intersection of the lA cavity. The SMW 3M-
TDR well will be located 20 feet north and on the same drill pad as 2M-TDR. Natural Soda,
Inc.(NSI) proposes to install four TDR cables on the outside of a 4-1/2 inch casing. The cables
will be set 45, 65, 85 and 105 feet above the Dissolution surface. NSI proposes to install this
monitoring well such that conventional gamma logging can be used to obtain subsidence
information in the event of cable failure.
After reviewing your letter and the attached procedure, we are approving your procedure
for drilling and completing this well. This approval includes both the location for drilling and
the procedure for installing the well. Please notify Nathan Wiser or Ken Phillips in the UIC
a~ Pdnfed on Recycled Paper
