iii iiiiiiiuiiu iii
sss
The Corley Company
Phone 6325050 PO BOM 1821
COLORADO SPRINGS. GOLO RADO 6090
Sept. 5, 1991
Ms. Catherine W. Begej
Ptined Land Reclamation Division
1313 Sherman St., Rm. 215
Denver, CO 80203
Dear Ms. Begej:
This letter is to confirm my statement made during your telephone conversation
ending about 5:15 P.M., Sept. 5, 1991, that The Corley Company hereby shall
terminate any further consideration of the reclamation of the GEC east pit by
the placement of ~axgy Fuels waste in that pit.
It is noted that there was a meeting of Energy, MLRD, and Corley on Aug. 29,
1991, at which time a verbal agreement was reached between MLRD and Corley; a
summary of that meeting was sent to MLRD the same day: and a summary of that
meeting was addressed to us and sent to Energy on Sept. 4, 1991. There is a
disparity of important points between the two letters, and an additional
condition was imposed by the MLRD letter. Further, MLRD has failed to deliver
the reclamation plans for Section 24 by Sept 3, 1991, as agreed or to even
send out those plans on Sept. 3, 1991, as set forth in MLRD's letter.
Therefore, we request an immediate start on the reclamation of the lands
disturbed by GEC and for which MLRD has the forfeited bond.
Further, we request that other portions of our land which are bonded by
Harrison Western, Corp., receive timely inspections and remedial actions to
achieve adequate reclamation.
Sincerely,
W.D. Corley, J
President
~~
~~~~ L=.
..i
SEP 0 9 1991
Reoi ~~ned Land
amatior, piyisior~
