Mr. Kent Gorham
March 11, 2003
Pace 2 of 2
2. Were soil samples taken on the reference area? Could the general vegetative character on
the reference area be better due to more fertile soils?
No soil samples were collected from the reference area. However, it is possible that soils at the
reference area have a higher fertility compared to soils used for reclamation. Storage, handling,
and placement may have also reduced the fertility of the topsoil material and, thus, reduced the
character of vegetation on the reclaimed area.
If you have any questions regarding our responses or require any further information, please call
me at (303) 850-0930.
Sincerely,
~~
erry Koblitz
Principal
CC Ron Thompson
