r
cross-sectional profile sketches of the proposed repaired slide area. In addition, a slope
stability analysis, using information from the Maxim geotechnical reports, should be
provided. Finally, a discussion of why the slope failed in the first place and why the
proposed repair plan will not result in further slope failure should also be provided.
In regard to the slide monitoring plan, the Division requests that Bowie Resources
monitor the slide area in order to determine the stability and safety of the slide. The
monitoring can be in the form of visual monitoring stakes placed across the slide area,
photographs of the slide area taken from the same vantage point or periodic visual
examinations. This monitoring should begin as soon as possible and continue until it
becomes reasonable that the slide repair is stable. The Division requests that Bowie
Resources submit the details of the monitoring program as soon as possible.
If you have any questions, please call me.
Sincerely,
~,~/ d
~~a ~ .\
ybse h J.
