Infonnation on the sediment control system is presented in Section 4.05 and in Exhibit 18 of the permit application. Permit Map 26 shows the location of the components of the sediment control system. All surface disturbance at the Eagle Mines, other than those areas discussed above, is routed to sediment ponds designed to treat the water for suspended solids. Runoff from the surface disturbance areas is routed to sediment ponds by a series of diversion ditches. All undisturbed drainage, where practical, is routed by collection ditches around the disturbed areas and discharges directly to the natural surface water system. Therefore, the amount of runoff water needed to be treated by the sediment pond is minimized. D. Surface and Ground Water Monitoring The applicant will monitor ground water and surface water in a manner approved by the Division. The monitoring plans are set forth in Exhibit 29 of the permit application. The Division has reviewed the ground and surface water monitoring plans and found them adequate for identifying any impacts that develop. The Division has approved the following monitoring plans for ground water (4.05.13(1)(a)) and surface water (4.05.13(2)(a)). These plans aze followed when the operator is actively mining. The operator may follow a reduced monitoring plan (Exhibit 29, Appendix D) that the Division has approved for implementation while the mine is in temporary cessation. Ground Water Monitoring Plan Eagle Mines' Water Quality Monitoring schedule is found in Exhibit 29 of the permit application. There aze three monitoring wells, the No. 5 Mine, TR-4, and TR-7A. Quarterly and annual parameter lists aze shown below.
