Stream Channel Diversions
The Division approved the diversion of an ephemeral stream draining at least one
squaze mile. Scullion Gulch has been diverted with a large diameter pipe culvert
such that it passes beneath the D Portal facilities azea. The decision to approve
this diversion is based on a fmding that the proposed diversion meets the
requirements of 4.05.18 and 4.05.4, applicable local, State, and Federal statutes
and regulations and that the diversion is designed to safeguazd public safety and
to minimize adverse impacts to the hydrologic balance (4.05.4(1) and (4)).
C. The ground water monitoring plan is as follows: (4.05.13(1)).
a. Groundwater monitoring is conducted at sixteen bedrock groundwater wells
at eleven locations and one alluvial well within and adjacent to the permit
azea. The stations aze depicted on Map 137, and aze identified as follows:
4-20U 2-17U
4-20L 2-17L
QAL-5
2-17TWM
29-4U 29-4M
30-8U 30-8M
31-7M 32-7U
32-7M 32-7L
33-8U 33-8M
33-8L
Wells 29-4M, 30-8M, 32-7M, and 33-8M will be sampled once, within 6
months prior to being mined out, for the full list of pazameters. We1131-7M
will be sampled within one yeaz prior to bond release. Additional wells for
which monitoring is not currently specified will be left open to allow for
bond release monitoring if deemed necessazy in the future.
b. The alluvial well (QAL-5) will be monitored quarterly for water level, pH,
conductivity, and temperature, and will be sampled annually for complete
list of water quality pazameters. Depth to groundwater is measured annually
2R
