This program will be continued for the
life of the operation.
Some discussion transpired between you and our project engineer, John Walters,
as to the location of the new monitoring site on East Salt Creek. The
location will be presented to your office on an appropriate scaled map for
approval prior to installation. This matter should be resolved in the very
near future.
Soil samples have been taken in the fill areas and we are presently awaiting
analysis. It was stipulated that the sampling and analysis was to be accom-
plished within 5 months of permit issuance and obviously we have failed to
meet that deadline. It should be taken into account however that the purpose
for the required analysis was to determine suitability of soil materials for
reclamation. As the reclamation of McClane Canyon was identified as being
scheduled for the year 2011, one should reflect on the importance of missing
the stipulated date by 5 months.
Salt Creek has not finalized a configuration of the McClane Canyon work area,
and has no present plans to do so. It is requested that this stipulation
be dropped as Salt Creek will be incorporating such plans with the application
for the second permit term. It is anticipated that the configuration approved
by the Division will exist through this permit term. Any configuration, other
than that existing, will be submitted to the Division for approval prior to
construction.
