.k ~ • •
Nesoonse to coa~oiarr~t letter--Pane [
3. We believe that hr. Baker must hove indicated to Hr. Posey and
the Conservancy Board that he intended to operate a wet pit. We
would hope Mr. Baker would try again to establish a private dry
pit on his property. We agree the County needs a source of
materials for nrivnte and commercial purposes. The County does
not want to use its materials to serve these purposes.
4. We do not intend to use the pit area as a dumping ground. We
intend to store road building materials including tiptop,
culverts, bridge parts, and some drums of non-hazardous licuid
^eterials. The County has been lax in the past about keeping
these materials in an orderly manner. After reclamation is
conplete in a portion of the bottom of the excavation these
natetials can be placed in the bottom of the pit which will make
then Huth leas visible to surrounding property owners. Since the
County does own this land it would be used out of necessity to
store these natetials even if it were not being used ea a pit.
We would be happy to offer what assistance we can to hr. Baker should he
elect to try again to establish a pit on his property. ,
Sincerely.
Joh T. Ungefuq
Sa_ he County Road Sup rvis r
