We want you to know that we aze strongly opposed to
this plan for a number of reasons which include, but are not limited to, environmental, aesthetic
economic concerns. We are very familiar with this type of operation and know that they are
amongst the ugliest most intrusive industrial complexes in Colorado. We certainly do not want
one built anywhere neaz our farm. Aside from this aesthetic factor, which would most definitely
affect our property value, to say nothing of our view of the front range, we feel that to have such
a plant built upstream from our property would also adversely affect the environment and water
quality and quantity of Fountain Creek from which both we and our horses drink and our hay
fields are watered. Lafarge's plan to have 780 truck trips today would further negafively impact
our air quality and the general stability of the land around which they plan to build, develop and
mine.
Sincerely,
~~~ ~ IC%~ 1~-.
Tan and Ruth Khan
5510 Wilson Rd.
Colorado Springs, CO 80919
719-265-5859
~adelphia.net
cc: Lafazge NA, Sundance Investments, Sam Guadagnoli
