You have requested an extension to enable Island Creek
to find another contractor to perform the work at this site. Given
the untimeliness of Harrison-Western's notification, the Division
grants Island Creek an extension to Monday, November 16, 1992, at
8 a.m. to complete reclamation of this road or face potential
enforcement action.
I am aware that this does not provide you a lot of time to
mobilize, but the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology would
like to see reclamation of the access road to drill hole NC-7
completed this fall before the site gets too moist from snowfall.
The haul between the sediment pond and the access road covers
reclaimed ground, and reclamation success may be compromised if
there is too much travel on snow covered ground. I would note that
regardless of moisture conditions, the haulage route should have
the 6" of topsoil scraped off prior to travel, that it should be
replaced, seeded and mulched when the work on the access road is
complete.
Please call if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
~~GL~ /.~f.Q L-~lJ
Catherine W.
