~~~- - i--iiiii
The Pittsburg & Midway Coal Mining Co.
A Chevron Company
Edna Mine
P.O. Box 176, Oak Creek, CO 80467
Ms. Susan Burgmaier
CDMG
1313 Sherman St.
Room 215
Denver, CO 80203-2273
Dear Ms. Burgmaier,
Division o1 Mme~als & (~eoiogy
R~r,FivED
.lUL 11 1996
July 10, 1996
Enclosed, please find a copy of the fertility (N,P,K) analysis on
the composite sample of substitute soil materials (run of mine
spoil) for the West Ridge mining area. This sample was taken as a
result of Division comments regarding the 1995 Annual Reclamation
Report. Comment number 2 of the Division comments mentioned the
failure of P&M to sample substitute soil material for fertility.
P&M responded that we had been remiss in not sampling this material
and would provide a composite sample.
Mine staff is currently in the process of analyzing and securing a
contractor to provide fertilization of the West Ridge Area as a
whole. After consulting with the supplier, and getting his
recommendation on amount, timing and make up of the mix, P&M plans
to fertilize the West Ridge Area during the 1996 field season.
Should you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact
me at the Edna Mine.
Sincerely,
David Beverlin
Resident Engineer
