As a result we have decided to approve the Plan of Operation and amendments, as they have been submitted to us subject to the conditions and stipulations that follow. Equipment will be required to be cleaned prior to being located at this site. This should minimize the potential for the introduction of additional non-native species along the travel routes and at the mine site. Disturbed areas associated with the operation will be monitored and treated if necessary on an annual basis to prevent the further spread of weeds in the area. In addition, Midas Mining is encouraged to coordinate with the Gunnison County Weed Coordinator to prepare a weed management plan that at a minimum would include these requirements. 2. As an added precaution to protect water quality in Henson Creek, the following will be necessary: 1. The existing diversion of Red Cloud Gulch would be bolstered with additional soil and rock to prevent high flows from Red Cloud Gulch overtopping the portal and mining area. 2. Water quality sampling of the water reaching the ponds will be required monthly. If a water quality problem is detected from pond sampling, operations will be suspended until adequate mitigation can be put in place. 3. Maintain communication between the operator, the grazing permittee and the BLM to avoid conflicts with movement of sheep. 4. To reduce the potential conflict between truck from the mine and recreationists along the road the following steps will be required: >Make truck drivers aware of the presence of recreationists who will not be expecting large trucks on the road. This could include folks who are watching the scenery rather than the road, motorcycles who are going too fast for the conditions, ATVs
