The primary concerns expressed by
nearby residents have been related to the intensity of blasting at the
site, however, a complete investigation of potential impacts was made
during the site inspections. Once the operator provides certain specific
information on the nature of the blasting at the site, the Division will
take steps to assure that the blasting related ground motions are below
the levels that would cause structural damage. You will be advised of the
limitations placed on the operation at that time. If you are interested
in gaining an increased understanding of the field of blasting related
ground motions, the references listed in the 10/11/95 inspection report
contain a great deal of information on the subject.
If you h<jve any questions, or if I may be of further assistance, please
do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
/ ' ,f
`/i- r_
~r. ~vv ~ f-._.
Allen C.
