The Division of
Minerals and Geology {Division) anticipates the Lower Wilson Project as a Permit Revision [see
Rule 2.08,4(1)] to the current Colowyo Coal Mine Permit C-1981-019. This definition identifies
the criteria for the schedule.
E-mail Task and Days Division Comments
Entries
CDMG Completeness Upon receipt of a permit revision application (Application) at the
Review, 14 days (2 Division, the Division has 10 days to determine if the Application is
weeks) complete [Rule 2.07.3(1)]. If the Application is incomplete, the
Colowyo Coal Company (Applicant) will be given an opportunity to
amend, review, or otherwise make said Application complete.
Receipt of a revised Application re-initiates the 10-day review
eriod.
The date that the Application is considered complete by the Division is an important date, and
initiates the schedule for a number of subsequent actions.
The Division is required to coordinate the issuance of surface coal
mining permits with appropriate local, State, and Federal agencies
[Rule 1.03.4(3)]. The Division will request the U.S. Office of
Surface Mining (OSM) to determine whether the Application meets
the criteria of a Federal mine plan modification as described in 30
CFR 746.18. The Division will inform the Applicant of the OSM
determination.
