,
Mr. pale Ream
Cooley Gravel Co.
July 10, 1972
Page l0
In view of the extremely small ground motions recorded during these
two blasts, we do not feel that an intensive program of monitoring is
necessary. However, we would recommend an occasional measure-
ment of the larger quarry shots. We feel that the accumulation of a
seismic history would be most useful in the event that complaints were
made at some future date. We also urge that you maintain an accurate
log book showing the pounds of explosive, number of holes fired per
delay, and size and depth of holes for each blast.
We were unable to obtain a sound record of the blast. We feel that
such measurements should also be a part of the blast monitoring pro-
gram. In the absence of definite legal standards, a history may pro-
vide considerable reassurance at some future date.
After you have reviewed this report we would welcome your comments
or questions. We appreciate this opportunity to serve you and are
looking forward to continuing our excellent relationship.
Sin~,erely,
(~~
~mes M.
