Any decision to move the
headquarters would have to come
after that, he said.
"Clearly, we have not made any
decision to move to Phoenix," Ma-
lys said. "We have offices in Phoe-
nix and Denver and we have talked
about should they be combined,
like should we move Denver to
Phoenix or Phoenix to Denver, but
no decision has been made."
"There's no question [here are
rumors," Malys said. "We've
made a change in that the head of
exploration is moving to Tempe,
Ariz. But [here certainly is no plan
for us [o be moving companies."
A move to Arizona would make
sense after Cyprus becomes pri-
mari:y a copper and
molybdenum produc-
er, industry experts
said. Arizona is the
major copper pro-
ducing state and
home to industry
giant Phelps Dodge.
Cyprus Chairman
Milt Ward could even be consider-
ing amerger with another copper
company, said Ted Worthington,
Denver bureau chief of the Nortk-
ern Miner trade journal.
See STORAGETEK on 8B
STOCK WATCH
Cyprasl4nax
Minerals Co., tCY~J~:
NYSE);10.56, up
56 cents.
