(BMRI) - San Luis ]?roject
DMG Permit No. M-88-112 Magnesium Chloride for CV-:L
Dear Mr. Dillies
This letter is to provide you with an update on activit_.es at the
San Luis Project and is intended for informational purposes.
We are in the process of installing a charging system for the
dust suppression system at the drop box on CV-1 (the st<<cker belt
from the primary jaw crusher to the crushed ore stockpile) that
will minimize freezing of the spray bars and nozzles during
winter conditions. A 20°s magnesium chloride solution will be
used to charge the spray bars and nozzles when the crusl-.er is not
operating to drop the freezing point to approximately -<7°F. The
magnesium chloride will be stored in an 8,000 gallon tank which
will be contained in an earthen berm. The tank will be placed in
an already disturbed area, so there will be no additional
reclamation costs. The spray bars and nozzles are
Air Emission Permit #89CS333-2 through the Colorado
Health Air Pollution Control Division. This permit
visible emissions shall not exceed l00 opacity and
kept wet to control emissions of particulates.
Sincerely, ,
Sally ayes
Envir mental Engineer
cc: Anne Baldrige
Dan Robertson
Alana Scott
part of our
Department of
states that
ore shall be
A SUBSIDIARY OF BA77LF MOUMA/N CO/.D COMPANY
P.O.
