Banks and Gesso, LLC
' properties until the slurry wall is completed, initial mining operations will occur
' near the Platte River. Portions of the compacted clay liner need to be
constructed in mined areas adjacent to the new mining area. The slurry-wall
construction around the new mining area will begin and end in these sections of
the compacted clay liner. Initial mining operations will include topsoil stripping
and excavation of de-watering trenches. After the topsoil has been stripped, the
' raw material will be excavated with front-end loaders and/or a large hydraulic
' excavator. The material will be loaded into off-road haul trucks and transported
back to the existing processing site. Alternatively, the trucks may short-haul the
material from the pit to a drive-over hopper, feeding a field conveyor, which
' would convey the material back to the processing area. The material near the
bedrock may be pushed up with a bulldozer, for subsequent handling if front-end
' loaders are utilized.

' (b~ Earthmoving Oaerations
Earthmoving operations will begin with general site cleanup, removing fences
' and incidental agricultural refuse, with appropriate disposal methods. Trees,
' shrubs and other excess vegetation will be grubbed and removed, prior to
stripping operations. The topsoil first stripped will be initially stored in stockpiles
' on the west side of the property for future reclamation. These stockpiles will be
' placed to minimize noise and visual impacts to adjacent properties. Stockpiles
remaining for over one year will be planted with the temporary seed mix
referenced in Exhibit E.
