D39t. of Natural r?esom~cez <br />This is to answer the letter dated April 3, 1985 concerning <br />the need to amend the permit in question. All of the referenced <br />statements were made during the permitting process for this mine. <br />The county concerns were that operations would be complete on this <br />Stage once the new bridge was complete and required reclamation <br />be started to show the area was no longer being used as a load out <br />area. Albert Frei and Sons met the conditions and time limits <br />placed by the county for reclamation of Stage L. <br />Reclamation appeared to be successful prior to the flooding <br />of the area in the Spring of 1984. The area was inundated with <br />flood waters and its configuration changed. The operator is <br />requesting they be allowed to monitor this area until the runoff <br />this year (1985) is over. In normal years runoff is complete by <br />late July or early August. At that time the natural reclamation <br />done by the river will be evaluated and Albert Frei and Sons will <br />take the steps necessary to complete the reclamation of Stage L. <br />They will either take your suggestion and do the amendment <br />designating the area flood plane or do the resoiling and reseeding <br />necessary during the late planting season. <br />The operator realizes they must meet all of the requirements <br />in the performance standards to achieve bond release or it will <br />not be released. <br />You s t~ru/~ly, <br />7~, lril_~4~/ )/ <br />tevan L.
