1 ' ~
Western Fuels A•ociation •
Moon Lake Project
DRILL HOLE RECLAMATION PROCEDURES
1) Subsurface Abandonment:
a) Bottom 300 feet of each drill hole was filled with a
cement plug. The 300 foot interval was sufficient to
bring the top of the plug at least 50 feet above the
highest stratigraphic coal seam encountered in the
coal facies zone.
b) Cuttings brought to the surface during drilling
operations were shoveled back into the drill hole
as much as possible, after the cementing process, to
within 2 feet of the surface. A 2 foot cement cap was
then placed in the top of each abandoned drill hole.
2) Surface Reclamation
a) A 2 foot length of rebar was cemented into the top
1 foot of each hole. Aluminum caps marked with the
hole identification were attached to the top of the
rebar.
b) Drill hole sites were recontoured, disked and re-seeded
with 12 lbs./acre of the followinq seed mixture:
Western Wheatgrass 308
Siberian Wheatgrass 308
Russian Wildrye 208
Fourwing Saltbush 208
Re-seeding was (or will be) repeated as necessary.
c) Access roads that did not previously exist were disked -__
and re-seeded. Water bars were constructed where neces-
sary. --
