The road ditch and berm
was improved to divert water off of the top
of this slope. The rilled area was graded
and reseeded.
9 This channel was graded and redefined.
Afterwards, the channel area was reseeded.
10 Water was diverted away from this eroded
area. The rill was graded and reseeded.
11 A rill was identified in a portion of this
area during 1992. That rill was graded and
seeded. Small, short contour ditches were
constructed to divert water away from the
1993 gully site to an adjacent grassed
area. The channel was graded, redefined,
and seeded.
Mitigative measures for all of the above areas were implemented
and completed during June 1993. The rill and gully maintenance
was completed at that time because ground conditions were
conducive to grading and seeding. Additionally, many of the
rill and gully areas were identified in the Division's April 13-
16, 1993 inspection report for Seneca II Mine. That report
recommended maintenance items be completed by June 30, 1993.
The repaired areas will be monitored for the effectiveness of
the remedial activities conducted at each area.
Please contact either Roy Karo at Seneca II Mine or me if you
have any questions.
Sincerely,
Gary W.
