Written landowner request for a variance from achieving the approximate original contour
during backfilling and grading operations at the Bear and Lower Hubbard Creek Canyon
facilities (2.06.5(2)(e)). These requests must come from the respective landowners of these
sites, and these will supplement the existing findings for these areas.
2. Information, as specified in Rule 2.05.3(3)(b), regarding the culverts along the Elk Creek
Canyon Road which are located above the explosives bunker area. Please provide any
documentation to prove that these culverts were existing prior to August 3, 1977 as part of
the old exploration road accessing Elk Creek. A map showing the location of these culverts
should be included in the submittal. Five culverts should be addressed: Two culverts
ten feet in diameter are located in the channel of Elk Creek; the other three, one 48-inch, one
18-inch, and one l0-inch, are located in or on the light use road and convey drainage from
the upgradient side of the road to the downgradient side where the drainage eventually finds
its way to Elk Creek.
Please submit the requested information by May 31, 1994, which is ten working days from the
date you will receive this letter via Facsimile. The information should be submitted in the form of
a minor revision.
