In addition the groundwater monitoring that is occurring is <br />important to protect the ground water within this azea. Provided the company continues to <br />remove only the gravel resources produced at this site annually and groundwater monitoring is <br />continued, the Service does not object to issuance of this permit. <br />It is our recommendation that prior to the next renewal of this permit that the company find an, <br />alternate site outside of the stream channel. The next time this perniifcomes rip for renewal, the <br />Service will oppose the continued instream/side channel mining operation that is currently <br />occurring at this site.
