Binns <br />Environmental Protection Specialist <br />Division of Minerals and Geology <br />1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 <br />Denver, CO 80203 <br />Division of Minerals 8 Geology <br />Re: Shaping and Re-seeding of Select Topsoil Piles: Permit C-81-044, Cyprus Empire <br />Corporation <br />Dear Ms. Binns; <br />Per our discussion in the field, CEC is sending this correspondence to outline the <br />topsoil piles which have been shaped, and the seed mix utilized for re-establishing the <br />vegetative cover. <br />Three piles immediately south of the #9 yard, the two piles near pond HR-P1, the pile <br />near the scalehouse, and the two piles near the unloading ramp have been reshaped <br />using a dozer to flatten the side slopes. These piles were subsequently ripped with a <br />loader. The piles will be broadcast seeded using a combination of the Topsoil seed mix <br />and the Pastureland seed mix, at a ratio of approximately 3:1. As discussed, CEC feels <br />that this may result in slightly better cover and establishment on these piles, given their <br />locations and planned life of storage. <br />Should you have any questions or comments, please contact me at your convenience. <br />Sincerely, <br />Marcus A.
