This shall
be installed according to manufacturer's specifications, and covered
by six inches (6") of clean sand or gravel from off site. Fabric
liner shall be placed longitudinally down the length of the channel.
Fabric shall be placed longitudinally up the sideslopes with a minimum
three inches (3") of overlap between strips, with 12"-18" long metal
anchors every square foot. New fabric lengths should be single-
overlapped with the up stream fabric above the downstream fabric.
Anchor trenches at the top and the bottom of the slope shall be six
inches (6") wide and twelve inches (12") deep and anchored on o:ne foot
(1') centers.
Total channel dimensions given above are those dimensions at tlae rock
surface. The rip-rap must be installed over the entire cross section.
All junctions must be properly keyed in place 3 feet deep, f'or a 5
foot long key length. The lower rip-rap area consisting of )L75' of
rip-rap shall end at the edge of tha bottoa of Magpie Creek with the
key length mentioned above. From the key area, the rip-rap ditch
shall extend ten feet with grade no steeper than 2$. After 10 feet,
the grade of the rip-rap ditch shall resume and be no steeper lthan 8$
(this grade shall be made as low as possible). This area shall be
marked by the PROJECT MANAGER. Side slopes through the embanlanent of
Magpie Creek Diversion shall be no steeper than 3:1. All grades must be
inspected and approved by the PROJECT MANAGER prior to rip-rap
placement.
The channel between the upper and lower junction areas should! be 15
feet wide, minimum sideslopes of 2H:1V with a channel gradient of
approximately 4$. Total depth of the diversion should be 2 feet. No
additional disturbance shall occur beyond the existing disturbance in
the natural drainage. The existing portion of the lower diverted
natural drainage shall be backfilled with the adjacent stockpiled
material and blend in with the existing topography. All regraded
slopes shall be revegetated in accordance with Task 7.
Access to the West Pit shall be on the West Pit access road. This
road serves as two functions; access to the West Pit and drainage
control on the recently reclaimed slope. Some minor work may be
required to access the West Pit by the CONTRACTOR. The drainage from
the access road shall tie in with the diversion ditch as directed by
the PROJECT MANAGER. The CONTRACTOR shall maintain the access road to
the West Pit to equal or better condition after the job is completed,
and assure that tha road functions as a drainage diversion.
9. Additional Rip-Rap Material if needed- Additional x•ip-rap
material will be utilized on the West Pit Diversion ditch at the
direction of the Project Manager. 75 cy of rip-rap @ $20.00/c:y.
c:\gec\fd2
