Please
incorporate it with the annual resort submitted to your of!'ice on
3/9/9. Even though the mine itself has been inactive since 1996,
Mined land reclamation was done in the form of a steel grill cover
over an existing fallen stope/shaft, This work was performed by
your contractor, Mark Levin at the direction of Julie Anear.
It is my intention to obtain a permit to continue limited work
on the 1-hil Sheridan Lode, since ti.e 4bandonment of tine property by
East-4:e:.t mining has resulted in my loss of a permit.
In light of the present situation, I would like to obtain a
permit !•or a speciff:en mine. That is, On a limited basis to remove
a few tons of ore for sale as specimens of the rare minerals that
are contained in the narrow veins. There is great need by University
and college geology students fa•study of the Y~ydrothermal veins in
the Gold hill region. It is to this end that I would be working.
Pe:r•haps a prospecting permit ur a research and development
permit ~~rould serve this purpose. It is imperative that such permit
be in ,dace by the first of May 1999 in order totake advantage of
the sur:T~er months. It is impossible to work the winter months.
All work will be restricted to the former permit boundry as
shown on the M-c8-081 map.
Since I am hearing impared, it is difficult fur n.e to use the
telephone. Iwuuld like to speak to the proper authority face to fuse
on an appointment basis if this can be arranged.
Your advice and aid in accomplishing thesE goals will be very
much appreciated,
Due to family related health problems I am now living at the
ad•lres:; listed below. Please direct all cor.r.anicaticn to this
address>,
Harry Covey
1115 ~ St.
Salida, CO. 81201
Since ely yours,
rrY .Covey
(7191 559-6742
