CULTURAL AND HISTORIC RESOURCES (2.04.9, 2.05.6(4)) <br />Several cultural resource survey reports have been prepared for Pittsburg and 14idway <br />Coal Company's Edna mine by tho Laboratory of Public archaeology (LOPa) and the <br />Grand River Institute (see Volume 5, Section 2. 8). These surveys have identified <br />six cultural resource sites within 1/2 mile of the permit boundary. Sites SRT 197, <br />148, 150, 151 have been recommended as eligible for the National Register and <br />sites SRT 149 and SRT 152 have been recommended as not eligible for the federal <br />Register by OSM. In addition, a ^aybro Historic District has been proposed. However, <br />the specifics of this district have not. been identified. The proposed district <br />does not include the previouslrJ mentioned six sites. <br /> <br />The applicant has provided adecfwlte information e:rccnt that the applicant must <br />produce a map, the location, crtent and description of the pre posed Haybro /listoric <br />District; a buffer zone survey and final report; and a mitigation plan for all <br />sites eligible for the~National Register.
