Dudash
1313 Sherman, Room 2'_5
Denver, Colorado 80203
RE: Wyoming Fuel Company, Golden Eagle Mine, Permit No. C-81-013
Mr. Dudash:
I am in possession of the reply you sent to the Las Animas County
Planning and Land Use office. I am the surface owner of the property
where this shaft and fan were constructed and I have the following
problems with this situation.
1. Are you stating that the trees that are being directly impacted
by the emissions (whatever they are) are as healthy as non-affected trees?
2. I note with interest your assertion that methane would not settle
into a valley. There are some dead and injured people in and around
ilempstead - Brenham, Texas, that really doubt that gases that are
supposedly lighter than air can not be concentrated on the ground under
certain conditions.
3. Is it the position of your agency that the citizens living in the
?urgatorie Valley in an area affected by this shaft and blower are not in
-:ny danger whatsoever of explosion and, or fire under any climatic
conditions'
4. I have a water well many years old that now appears to be dry
since the drilling and establishment of the air shaft within about ?.00
Yards.
5. Was not an explosion and fire experienr_ed in this mine near this '~
,haft a ..>hort time ago that injured _everal men and was the .M.irie cited for
.:'angerous acts or omissions in connection with this incident?
,ip~~ ~i~,l~l
