Squire:
At approximately 10:00 a.m „ Tuesday July 2, 1985 -
Golden Eagle Mine Discharge Pond 002 was found completely
drained, Two holes from a small burrowing mammal located
below the drop inlet spillway has obviously caused this
problem, Discharge water from the Golden F.agle Mine was
flowing across Pond 002,. through the Itoles, and discharging
directly into Cireula Canyon,
Wyoming Fuel Company took remedial action in by-passing
Pond 002 by extending the four inch mine water discharge
to Cireula Canyon, Due to the inactive status of WFC
since April 24, 1985, all effluent limitations are being
met. WFC's plans are to continue this bypass during the
inactive operating status, Prior to active mining, SJFC
commits to repairing the hales in Pond 00? and directing
the mine water discharge back into this pond,
Please call if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
~~~~~~~
Jeff Fleshman
Mine Engineer
cc: R,B, tiorehead, Jr,
T,J, Augustine
D, Stout
C.
