Lochhead
E r.ecuove Dueaor
m~chael B. Long
Division Diredo~
As was discussed during your visit to our office, I have further researched the location of your
property (parcels owned by Charter Oak Coal Company and Coloroutt Coal Company). The
purpose of this research was to determine whether there was mining related disturbance to any
of those parcels, and whether or not the Division currently holds a performance bond for any
of that disturbance. The information fathered was based on the land descriptions provided by
you, mays from the approved Edna Mtne permit, and aerial photographs taken by the Division.
Since this information Ls not based on a true survey, it may not be accurate. If you are in need
of a more accurate and detailed description of the current status_of your land, a survey would
probably be necessary.
Following are my findings:
Township 4 North. Range 85 West of the 6th P.M.
Section 7: Lots 6,7, SE'/a, E'/zSW'/a
It appears that this area was disturbed by mining, and is included in the area for
which the Division holds a reclamation performance bond.
Section 17: SW'/aNW'/:, W'/zSW'/a
The tipple area ponds appear to be located in this area. The Division holds a
performance bond for reclamation of those structures.
Section 18: S'/zNE'/a, SE'/aNW'/:, N'/zSE'/a, N'/zS'/zSE'/a, NE'/aSW'/a
Lots 1, 3, 4, N'/zNE''/a, NE'/aNW'/a, S'/zS'/zSE'/a, SEl/aSW'/a
This area appears to have been previously disturbed by mining and was reclaimed
according to standards in place at the time, with the entire performance bond
released in 1984.
Section 19: N'/zNE'/aNE'/a
It looks as though a portion of an access road and a parts storage area are located
in this area, both of which are currently bonded.
Section 20: NW'/aNW'/a
It aPQears that additional mine facilities are located in this area, for which [he
Div}slon holds a performance bond.
